Each resident is involved in a research project. This begins with the designation of a faculty advisor and project in the EM-1 year. During the EM-2 year, the project is further developed and instituted. Over the course of the program, residents are provided protected time to complete their research endeavors. The project is expected to result in a publishable and presentable paper at the end of the EM-3 year. The depth and quality of such presentations are creditable with all being presented at Residents’ Research Day in June. Some projects go on to national presentation and publication.
