Faculty Diversity Advisory Council (FDAC)

 

The History of the Faculty Diversity Advisory Council:

  • An external consultant was brought in to guide the SOM on how to enhance faculty diversity.
  • The Faculty Diversity Advisory Council was established in December 2012.
  • In February 2013, the Council was provided its charge by the Dean of the SOM:

The Dean's Charge to the Faculty Diversity Advisory Council:

  • Conduct diversity assessment across all Renaissance School of Medicine departments
  • Develop a Renaissance School of Medicine-wide diversity plan as well as tactical diversity initiatives (PDF)
  • Advise departments on diversity related issues
  • Support departments to develop departmental-specific diversity plans
  • Establish a timeline for diversity plan implementation
  • Track departmental and Renaissance School of Medicine progress
  • Evaluate departmental and SOM success in achieving Renaissance School of Medicine diversity plan goals/objectives
