Office of Scientific Affairs (OSA)
The singular goal of the Office of Scientific Affairs (OSA) is to facilitate the biomedical research enterprise of Stony Brook Medicine. Working closely with the Office of the Vice President of Research, the OSA supports a vibrant base of scientists engaged in all aspects of biomedical discovery - basic, translational and clinical research, as well as biotechnology and drug development.

Office of Proposal Development (OPD)
OPD supports the development and preparation of highly competitive, interdisciplinary proposals. OPD manages a number of research services including limited competitions, workshops in grantsmanship, connection to institutional research resources, proposal content like graphics, and administrative components of the proposal development process.
Offices of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and Grants Management (OGM)
OSP coordinates and administers research and sponsored programs. OSP serves as the authorized representatives for the review, endorsement and submission of proposals and is also responsible for the negotiation and acceptance of agreements awarded by federal and state agencies, foundations, corporations, and other public and private sources.
OGM guides and oversees the financial transactions, accounting services, and informational reports set forth by sponsor agencies.
Office of Research Compliance (ORC)
ORC supports and promotes ethical research practices at Stony Brook University and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as University policies.
Intellectual Property Partners (IPP)
IPP bridges Stony Brook University’s innovation with public benefit through partnership between inventors and the business community and by the successful commercialization of cutting edge discoveries into new products and services.
