Dr. Sandeep Mallipattu, in collaboration with Icahn School of Medicine, Boston University, and Columbia University, was awarded a Five-year NIH R01 grant from NIDDK in 2020 to study the mechanisms mediating cellular crosstalk in glomerular diseases.
Principal Investigator Dr. Sandeep Mallipattu, in collaboration with Drs. Ramakrishnan, Longtin, Rubenstein, Venkatesh, and the School of Engineering, was awarded the SUNY Center-Scale Planning and Development Grant in 2020 on “Center for Kidney Regeneration”.
Dr. Farrukh Koraishy received a $30,000 SUNY multidisciplinary small team grant in 2020 for his proposal: “Using Machine Learning to develop CKD risk prediction models in patients with PTSD."

Dr. Farrukh Koraishy received the SUNY seed grant in April 2020 for his study, "Characterization of AKI and testing the use of Losartan in hospitalized patients with COVID-19".
Dr. Sian Piret received an Joseph V. Bonventre Research Scholar Grant from ASN in June 2020 for her study, “Transcriptional Regulation of Proximal Tubular Amino Acid Metabolism in AKI”.
Dr. Akintunde Mike Akinjero received a travel grant award to present his research abstract: “Chronic Gabapentin Toxicity Mimicking Uremia” at the 22nd International Conference on Dialysis, Advances in Kidney Disease 2020 in Los Angeles, CA (January 21-24, 2020).
