Jignesh Patel, M.D., M.Sc., is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stony Brook Medical Center. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Dr. Patel received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Stony Brook Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. In addition to the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Patel’s clinical and research interests focus on optimization of outcomes in cardiac arrest and pulmonary hypertension. He has authored manuscripts in several journals including Chest, Resuscitation, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Intensive Care Medicine, and Heart Lung and Circulation and has presented his work at the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Heart Association scientific meetings. Dr. Patel serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, PLOS One, the Journal of Intensive Care Medicine, and Annals of Intensive Care. He has completed an NIH K30 Clinical Research Fellowship, the Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program, and a Masters in Science in Clinical Research. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Heart Association, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
