The MSTP training grant submitted last year was successfully renewed for years 24-29 of support. The new award for $2.3M represents a 33% annual increase over last year's funding, and a 77% increase over the amount awarded five years ago when we last renewed the grant. The program currently has 58 students. While most PhD training is done on the Stony Brook campus, about a quarter of the students conduct their research at CSHL and a few at BNL.

MSTP SPONSORED EVENTS:

MSTP Fellows organize, although not every year, a one-day research symposium open to all wishing to attend. It focuses on a topic chosen by the students and involved distinguished speakers invited from around the world. Recent speakers included Nobel Laureates, members of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and many others, including several members of the SBU community. All MSTP Fellows are invited to lunch and dinner with the speakers.

The MSTP encourages and supports Fellows to attend the annual Clinical Research meeting.
