Welcome to the Ob/Gyn Residency Program at Stony Brook. Our residency is an academic training program in a university teaching hospital where residents can gain the highest levels of personal and professional growth. We welcome residents from New York and from all across the country.

We have a proven track record of matching residents into subspecialty Fellowship training (FPMRS, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine and REI)
Our department's faculty is actively involved in APGO (the Association of Professors in Gynecology & Obstetrics). Our resident scholars and fellowships include:

Clinical Excellence
- Stony Brook Medicine is a Level 4 (most advanced) Regional Perinatal Center for New York State and receives referrals for the most complicated cases
- We have a Level 3 NICU where which cares for the smallest and sickest newborn babies
- Stony Brook University Hospital is the only level 1, Trauma Center in Suffolk County
- Our teaching faculty cover all subspecialties of Obstetrics and Gynecology and participate in our mentorship program.
Exceptional Education Opportunities
- The Obstetrical and Gynecologic Simulation program, including Surgical and Clinical, enables residents to master complex procedures in a supportive, educational environment
- Fellowship Programs include Maternal Fetal Medicine and Minimally Invasive Surgery
