TRANSLATIONAL PILLARS IN THE LEARN CURRICULUM

Translational Pillars are one-week courses that occur three times per year after several clinical clerkship blocks in Phase II of the LEARN curriculum. The pillars' overall goal is to underscore the importance of translational research and evidence-based patient care in the practice of medicine while promoting active self-directed, life-long learning, as well as team-based learning. They also introduce learners to cutting-edge topics in translational medicine and emphasize the application of state-of-the-art basic science knowledge to clinical medicine.
