Kristopher Bianconi, MD
Dr. Kristopher Bianconi is a Clinical Instructor of Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital as well as an Emergency Ultrasound Fellow. Born and raised in Rockingham, Vermont, Dr. Bianconi spent the majority of his life in-state, studying Biology at the University of Vermont and working as an EMT and social worker. He pursued his medical education at St. George’s University in Grenada before moving to New Jersey, where he completed his clinical years and found his passion for Emergency Medicine in the city of Newark. Dr. Bianconi stayed in Newark to complete an Emergency Medicine Residency and EMS and Disaster Medicine Fellowship before joining the team at Stony Brook Medicine. His passions in ultrasound include advanced echocardiography and bringing POCUS into the out of hospital arena. When he isn’t working or studying, Dr. Bianconi enjoys spending time with his wife and their Shetland sheepdog named Waylon. He also has a diverse range of hobbies including snowboarding, listening to all genres of music and button-mashing The Legend of Zelda.

Benjamin Fombonne, MD, DTMH
Dr. Benjamin Fombonne is a Clinical Instructor of Emergency Medicine, Clinical Ultrasound and Global Emergency Fellow at Stony Brook University Hospital. He obtained his MD from the Renaissance School of Medicine before completing his residency in Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he served as Academic Chief Resident during his final year. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Fombonne’s interests including developing the field of Emergency Medicine globally, the role of point of care ultrasound in low-resource settings, and the interface of emergency medicine with social determinants of health and at-risk populations.
