Christopher C. Lee, M.D., FAAEM

Dr. Lee was born in Seoul, Korea and raised in Los Angeles.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and his MD from the Chicago Medical School.  He then trained in Emergency Medicine at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.

After residency, he worked at Flushing Hospital Medical Center where he served as the Associate Director of the Emergency Department and Director of Medical Education and Research for five years.

Dr. Lee is currently a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine as an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center (for the past eight years).  He is the director of International education and research.  He trained many physicians abroad who now became the leaders of Emergency Medicine in their own countries.  He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and also serves as a peer reviewer for ten journals.  He served as editor-in-chief for the Journal of Korean American Medical Association (KAMA) for 4 years and is now section editor for the Journal of Emergency Medicine (JEM) and editorial board for the Journal of Biomed Research International.  He also served as a board of director for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM).  He is the founder and the scientific chair of the international conference that launched on October, 2012 “Pan-Pacific Emergency Medicine Congress (PEMC) which has become one of the benchmark international conferences.  He has given many lectures and presentations nationally and internationally.  His academic interests include abdominal pain, trauma and international emergency medicine.
