As a leading academic medical center, we proudly sponsor diverse graduate medical education and training opportunities across five locations. Stony Brook Medicine offers 68 ACGME-(Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited residencies and fellowships across numerous specialties, six residency and fellowship programs through the School of Dental Medicine, and podiatry and pharmacy programs. And we have plans for additional programs in development.
Our objective is to ensure that every trainee graduates exhibiting clinical excellence, a steadfast commitment to patient care and safety, and a passion for lifelong learning. The comprehensive education and experience gained here will prepare our graduates for fulfilling clinical practice, research, education, and global health careers.
Stony Brook University Hospital is a vibrant tertiary academic medical center and hosts many unique programs within Suffolk County. Highlights include our Level 1 Trauma Center, bone marrow and kidney transplant services, a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room, and specialized centers for Cancer, Breast Care, Pediatrics, Cardiac Care, Neurosciences, Bariatrics, Women's Health, Healthy Aging and Vascular Medicine, among others. Additionally, our robust research initiatives provide residents and fellows with hands-on opportunities in both bench and clinical research, equipping them with the tools to pursue scholarly endeavors throughout their careers.
