Pathology Conference
Pathology conference is held every 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Pathology Department in the Health Science Building. It is attended by the fellows and faculty and run by one of the 2nd year fellows. It is precepted by GI Pathologists, Sui Zee, MD and Jela Bandovic, MD. This serves as an opportunity to present and discuss interesting and complex pathology topics and cases.
Radiology Conference
Radiology conference is held every 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Atkins conference room in the department of radiology in the Health Science Building. It is attended by fellows and faculty and run by one of the 2nd year fellows. It is precepted by GI Radiologist, Annapurneswara Chimpiri, MD. Interesting and complex cases and issues in radiology are discussed.
Journal Club
It is held once a month and Jonathan Buscaglia, MD serves as the faculty supervisor.
IBD Conference
This is a combined conference for the Divisions of Adult Gastroenterology, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Colorectal Surgery. It is held on the 4th Wednesday of every month. Farah Monzur, MD serves as the faculty supervisor.
Pancreatico-biliary Conference
It is held once a month and Jonathan Buscaglia, MD serves as the faculty supervisor.
Hepatology Conference
It is held once a month and Michael Clores, MD serves as the faculty supervisor.
Motility Conference
It is held every other month and Alexandra Guillaume, MD serves as the faculty supervisor.
Board Review
It is held twice a month on Friday mornings.
Morbidity & Mortality
It is convened every 3 months and run by Jonathan Buscaglia, MD.
Case Conference
An interesting case is presented with a focus on endoscopic evaluation and treatment. It is held once a month.
GI Guidelines
This is a brainchild of our fellows, where they present guidelines from ACG, AGA, and ASGE to each other. It is held once a month.
Medicine Grand Rounds
They are held every Wednesday, and GI faculty and fellows are expected to attend.
Summer and Winter Series
Each week during these sessions, faculty members give 1-2 lectures on a specific topic. Summer Series are held July-August and geared toward basics of inpatient management. Winter Series are held in January-February and is geared toward outpatient management.
Research Conference
It is held once a month and Olga Aroniadis, MD serves as the faculty supervisor. Half the sessions are devoted to research conferences during which Dr. Aroniadis will go over journal club articles to teach basic statistics. The other half of sessions will be devoted to fellows presenting their works-in-progress with the emphasis on troubleshooting pitfalls of their research projects.
