Joselin Vargas is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Leadership Development at Stony Brook University. She initially joined Dr. Mackenzie’s lab as part of the BioPREP summer program in 2014, exploring the efficacy of a novel drug against pancreatic cancer. Joselin joined Dr. Williams’s lab in Winter 2016 and is currently evaluating drug combination partners with the goal of enhancing the efficacy of current FDA-approved chemotherapeutic treatments in pancreatic cancer. Joselin is a Dean’s List student, involved with the University Scholars Program, a University Student Ambassador, and recipient of a URECA Grant and HEARST Transfer Scholarship. She is currently supported by IMSD-MERGE and LSAMP funding. Joselin’s future career goals include becoming a Physician-Scientist in the field of oncology.
