Male Reproductive Medicine, Surgery, and Sexual Dysfunction Fellowship

The Male Reproductive Medicine, Surgery, and Sexual Dysfunction Fellowship at Stony Brook Medicine is a one-year program offering advanced training in the surgical and medical management of male infertility and men’s reproductive health.

Overview

Fellows will gain expertise in microsurgical procedures, including vasectomy reversals, varicocele repairs, and microdissection testicular sperm extractions, as well as office-based surgical treatments. Additional training includes advanced methods of management of hypogonadism, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, ejaculatory disorders, and genitourinary reconstruction.

The fellowship program emphasizes both academic and clinical preparation for a career in male reproductive medicine and surgery. Fellows will have 60% clinical time, 20% research time, and opportunities to participate in 6–10 surgical cases per week, while managing 35–50 patients across 2–3 clinical days. A 2-week rotation with Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) will include hands-on experience in the office, andrology lab, and embryology lab.

Fellows will also lead monthly journal clubs, quarterly REI joint sessions, attend departmental grand rounds, and contribute to resident education. Additional opportunities include serving as a General Urology attending physician at the Northport VAMC.
