The Transplantation Services Team at Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH) is a unique combination of professionals with one goal: to make your experience here at SBUH a good one.  From our world class surgeons to our caring clinical staff, you won't find a more helpful dedicated group of individuals.

Here at SBUH Transplantation Services we provide a complete range of services by a multi-disciplinary team to make your experience as easy and pleasant as possible.  We understand that seeking out a possible transplant as an alternative treatment for End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) can be confusing, overwhelming and time consuming.

With our innovative one day workshop, you can get all the information you will need to become active on our kidney transplant waiting list, as well as on the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) national waiting list.  When you arrive to register you will be met by one of our Clinical Transplant Coordinators who will lead you through the entire process.  A history and physical examination will be performed in our special Transplant Clinic by one of our trained transplant professionals.  You will have the opportunity to meet with our financial counselor who will help you answer any questions you may have regarding the entire process and will discuss the options available for you and your family. 

Dr. Darras will then have the opportunity to meet with you to discuss any concerns you may have. When all the necessary documents are in place you will be notified by the Transplant Coordinator by mail as to your status on the waiting list.
