Undergraduate Geriatric Internship Program Requirements & Application

Requirements for Eligibility

 

Students must:

  • have taken science courses in college
  • have interest in a future health sciences related career – i.e. medicine, PA, nursing, NP, social work, physical therapy, etc.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • have good English speaking skills
  • understand the importance of working collaboratively with medical staff
  • understand attention to detail is important
  • make a commitment to work:
    SUMMER SESSION: an 8 hour shift per week during the 10 week summer session.
    Available shifts are Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 8am-5pm and Wednesday Noon-8pm
    Or
    FALL/SPRING SESSIONS: a 4 hour shift per week during the Fall or Spring Session.
    Available shifts are Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday 8am-Noon or 1pm-5pm or Wednesday 1pm-5pm. No evening or weekend shifts available.

2020 Summer Internship

The Handshake posting for applications for the 2020 summer program will be by February 10th

Deadline for applications for the 2020 Summer Program is March 15th

Students will be notified of their acceptance into the program no later than April 15th

The dates of the summer program will be from June 1st through August 14th, 2020

 

2020-2021 Academic Year Internship

The posting for the 2020-2021 Academic Year will be opened on March 25th

Deadline for applications for the 2020-21 AY program is May 15th

Students will be notified of their acceptance into the program no later than June 15th

The dates for the 2020-21 AY program will be determined by the School Calendar.
Internship starts mid-September.

  • Unofficial Transcript
