| "Now, with Stony Brook Medicine’s acquisition of Southampton Hospital in Southampton, on the South Fork of the East End, we have entered a new age in the healthcare of Eastern Long Island when it comes to surgery. This historic development expands the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system in a major way. What’s more, the expansion is further enhanced by Stony Brook’s current affiliations with Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport on the North Fork, and with Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Patchogue on the South Shore. These three hospitals are welcoming our department’s faculty, and their patients are welcoming them, as well.
