The Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook opened its doors to its first students 50 years ago in 1971. This series of oral histories records the timeline and experiences as told by our pioneering students and faculty, through to today's students, alumni and administrators. The common thread throughout is Stony Brook's unique focus on training its medical students to give back to their community.
