Promotion of Deirdre Eschler, M.D. to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine

The Department of Medicine is thrilled to announce the promotion of faculty member Deirdre Cocks Eschler, M.D., to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. Eschler is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. A native of Long Island, she attended medical school at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine (now the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University) where she was an inductee as a junior member of the AOA Honor Society.

Dr. Eschler completed her internal medicine training at Mount Sinai Medical Center/Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, and following a year as a chief resident, stayed at Mount Sinai to complete her fellowship in endocrinology. She returned to Stony Brook as an attending endocrinologist, and holds a special interest in adrenal, pituitary and thyroid disorders, as well as women’s health issues and diabetes-related issues.

Dr. Eschler's publications include papers on gestational diabetes, and also articles on adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders. She not only loves to educate her patients, but also loves teaching internal medicine and endocrinology to the medical students and trainees.
