Interests/Hobbies: Spending time with my wife Shima and my baby daughter Ala. In addition,
playing various sports (soccer, tennis, basketball), food (eating and
cooking), and traveling.
Why Stony Brook: Having spent my whole life in the south, I was looking for a new
experience. I love Long Island: the diversity, the tranquility, the
beaches, and being a little over an hour away from NYC. In addition, my
wife was admitted into the mathematics
PhD program at Stony Brook University, so this was the perfect place to
