Interests/Hobbies: I love spending time on the beach and in/around the water (jet-skiing/boating/snorkeling). If I could live life as a beach bum who practiced medicine, that would be an ideal living. I also have a love of traveling and really enjoy the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures and trying different cuisines (a foodie at heart).
Why Stony Brook: There are many reasons to choose SB. The program and its reputation of being an outstanding academic institution where I could lay the foundation for the practice of medicine, the location (in the vicinity of one of the greatest cities in the world). However the deciding factor for me was really the vibe I got while interviewing here. The residents and administration were different from the other places I interviewed at. Much more approachable and easy to talk to. The administration and residents seemed so interactive and involved with one another. The residents had a lot of involvement in how their program was structured and their opinions mattered! I remember thinking when I was ranking programs, that regardless of where I went, I would be able to achieve what I wanted and get to where I wanted to be in my career. But at Stony Brook, I new I would be happy as well. Oh and another great thing is the 4+1 scheduling!
