Why Stony Brook? The people. My cointerns are awesome and we're always planning activities outside the hospital for that much needed day off. Upper year resident leadership has been great as well. The IM faculty and chiefs have also been very supportive, which has made the transition from medical school to residency that much better. If you're looking to couples match, Stony Brook is also a couple's friendly hospital. My fiancee and I both matched here in separate programs and have been able to coordinate our vacation schedules accordingly. In addition, living on the north shore of Long Island, 5 minutes from the beach, is a huge bonus. |
