About
The Center for Disaster Health, Trauma & Resilience is a joint effort among the School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell. Our work has grown from collaborative research after Hurricane Sandy.
Overall Aim
To aid in individual and community-level prevention and resilience building and, quicker, more effective response and intervention during and immediately after disasters and other traumatic experiences.
Objectives
¤ To use advanced research and surveillance methodology to study and prevent major public health syndromes in the face of disasters and other traumatic experiences.
¤ To develop, investigate and disseminate novel prevention and intervention programs for resilience building and symptom management prior to, during and after disasters and other traumatic experiences.
