Congratulations to the winners of our annual poster competition. With nearly 40 posters submitted this year, I understand that it was especially challenging to identify the best from among such a highly accomplished group. I'm thankful that so many of you were able to participate and I'm proud of each of you for your achievements. As commented on over the weekend by a former chair at another institution, we have one of the strongest academically oriented departments of pathology in the country, as was evident at our annual research retreat.
I'd like to thank Dr. Ute Moll for her efforts in organizing our annual retreat as well as her service and that of Dr. Jingfang Ju, David Montrose, and Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz (our honored speaker) as judges for our poster competition.
I'd also like for thank Amy, Kathy, Alice, and Jess for the time that they spent to ensure that this event was a great success. They always do their very best to help keep our academic mission on track.
