Department of Pathology

I'm very happy to announce that Dr. Katherine Weng will be joining our department as an Assistant Professor and AP faculty member, starting in July 2025. Dr. Weng will serve as an attending pathologist in hematopathology, general surgical pathology, and breast pathology.
To quickly summarize key aspects of her qualifications, Dr. Weng earned her MD at St. George's University and her PhD in Biological Sciences at Dartmouth. She completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at NYU Langone Health and is currently a Hematopathology Fellow at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center. She also has a very strong record of scholarship and will make important contributions to the RSOM in research and teaching.
In summary, Dr. Weng is an outstanding recruit, and I'm thrilled that she decided to launch her career as an attending pathologist at Stony Brook!
