DSM-5 “Bootcamp”
- This course is designed to be interactive. It is suggested that residents be assigned certain diagnoses to review, or a Q&A format be used, i.e. white board lesson- try to come up with all of the criteria for a disorder with books closed, or Jeopardy style questions, competition between 2 teams, etc.
- PowerPoint presentations are discouraged.
- Criteria for each diagnosis should be reviewed and then applied to a case. Residents and faculty can bring their own patient cases or cases from the DSM-5 Clinical Cases book can be used.
- Please incorporate basic first line medication treatment for disorders
