11th Annual Women in Medicine Research Day

Please join the day’s events by submitting an Abstract. Based on their review, the Women in Medicine Research Day Abstract Review Committee will present awards to individuals whose work will be featured during the Closing Ceremony on the day of the event. We welcome submissions of new research findings or existing work presented at a national conference within the past 2 years. Your participation will highlight the outstanding accomplishments of women at the Stony Brook University School of Medicine. We look forward to receiving your submission.

Submission Instructions

                

Abstracts are limited to 400 words (excluding title, authors, addresses, and phone numbers) following the format below:

  • Title (in BOLD and CAPITAL letters)
  • Authors (with department/division name, address, email address, and phone number)
  • Submission Category: Faculty, Post,-doctoral Fellow, Fellow, Resident, Medical Student, Graduate Student, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Registered Nurse
  • Introduction containing a clear statement of the research purpose
  • Methods (including statistical methods, if possible)
  • Results
  • Conclusions/Clinical Relevance
  • Funding source(s)
  • CORIHS approval date & number (if applicable)
  • Financial disclosures (if applicable)

Abstract Deadline
Monday, February 6, 2017. Late submissions will not be accepted.


Presentation Instructions

Authors of accepted abstracts will do a one-minute PowerPoint presentation. A maximum of two slides is permitted. PowerPoint presentations must be submitted to Jamie Trupiano, Jamie.Trupiano@stonybrookmedicine.edu. Presenters may bring 15 copies of her presentation to hand out during the discussion portion of the event. 

There will be 2 separate one-hour Abstract Presentation and Discussion sessions (30 minutes each session). After their presentation, presenters will be directed to a table where she will be available for discussion.

Abstract winners will be announced during the closing ceremony. One winner will be selected from each of the submission categories (Faculty, Post,-doctoral Fellow, Fellow, Resident, Medical Student, Graduate Student, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Registered Nurse.
