Dr. Adenike Adeyemi-Jones is a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2025-2026. Dr. Adenike-Jones received her Medical Doctorate from CUNY School of Medicine and did her residency in Internal Medicine at NYU-LI Langone.
Timothy Gandolfo, DO
Dr. Timothy Gandolfo is a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2025-2026. Dr. Gandolfo received his Doctor of Osteopathy at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and then did his residency in Family Medicine at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
2024-2025
Alexandra Donnelly, DO
Dr. Alexandra Donnelly was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2024-2025 who had a strong foundation in Emergency Medicine prior to joining the fellowship. Dr. Donnelly received her Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a residency in Emergency Medicine also at Stony Brook Medicine. During residency, she served as a Chief Resident in Quality Assurance and Patient Safety. As a result of her dedication and outstanding commitment to education, Dr. Donnelly was awarded for excellence in teaching by her peers and received the Stony Brook Emergency Department’s Mark C. Henry Outstanding Resident Award.
Dr. Donnelly was involved in research to enhance the palliative care education of emergency medicine residents and to increase primary palliative care access within the emergency room. She aspired to bridge the palliative care and emergency medicine fields in her practice. Her interests include, enhancing the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses especially in critical, fast-paced settings.
Emlyn Jones, MD, MPH
Dr. Emlyn Jones was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2024-2025. She received her Medical Doctorate (MD) and Master of Health Science Research (MHS) from Yale Medical School and prior to that had completed her Master of Public of Health (MPH) at Emory University. Dr. Jones did her residency training in Family Medicine at Ventura Country Medical Center and practiced family medicine in Northern California for thirteen years before pursuing further training in Palliative Medicine.
Dr. Jones' clinical interests included working with interdisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based and whole person care that supports patients facing serious illness and their families in achieving their care goals. She also enjoys medical education and quality improvement projects.
After graduation, she moved to Boston to work as a hospice and palliative care attending at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
2023-2024
Allison Kruger, MD, MPH
Dr. Allison Kruger was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2023-2024. Dr. Kruger received her Medical Doctorate from American University of the Caribbean of Medicine and did her residency in Pediatric Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center before doing a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Northwell Health Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Kruger received her Master of Public Health here at Stony Brook University.
Dr. Kruger stayed on as an attending and continues to work with the young adult population in our service.
Ayesha Munir, MBBS
Dr. Ayesha Munir was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2023-2024. Dr. Munir received her MBBS from Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College in Pakistan and did her residency in Internal Medicine at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Dr. Munir stayed on as an attending and is working on starting a Palliative Care Heart Failure Clinic.

Amir Akl, MD
Dr. Amir Akl was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2022-2023. Dr. Akl received his Medical Doctorate from Saba University School of Medicine and did his residency in Internal Medicine at University at Buffalo.
Beenish Faheem, MD
Dr. Beenish Faheem was a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow in 2022-2023. Dr. Faheem received her Medical Doctorate from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and did her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s University Medicinal Center.
