Three DOM Faculty Members Selected for 2021 ACES

The Department of Medicine is thrilled to announce that three of our faculty members were selected to join The Miriam and David Donoho Academy of Clinical & Educational Scholars (ACES.)

ACES was founded in 2014 by a generous donation from Drs. Miriam and David Donoho to enhance the educational mission of Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. Membership in the Academy of Clinical and Medical Educators signifies outstanding contributions to the educational mission of the School of Medicine. Members are also selected through a competitive application process based on their accomplishments in one or more aspects of medical education.

The ACES Vision: Creation of a community of dedicated and scholarly educators whose creativity and innovation will address important issues in medical education for the physicians of tomorrow. The mission of ACES is to develop and promote expertise in medical teaching, educational scholarship, and leadership among the RSOM faculty.

The 2021 Department of Medicine ACES Junior Fellows and Senior Scholar are:

Junior Fellows:
Glennis M. Alvarado, MD
Division of General, Geriatric and Hospital Medicine

Miguel A. Saldivar, MD
Division of Infectious Diseases

Senior Scholar:
Luis A. Marcos, MD
Division of Infectious Diseases

We're extremely proud of these three outstanding faculty members. Congratulations to Drs. Alvarado, Saldivar and Marcos on being selected to this distinguished academy. We thank you for your leadership, and we wish you well in your future endeavors in medical education.
