Dr. Shipra Agrawal Receives NIH R01 Grant Award

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Shipra Agrawal, PhD, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, has received Notice of Award for her NIH R01 grant: Mechanisms and Selective Modulation of PPARy for the Treatment of Podocytopathies.

The central theme of her research program is to identify and understand the molecular mechanisms and pathways in podocytes and neighboring cells that can be targeted to develop novel therapies for glomerular disease. The additional translational focus is to correlate the basic research findings in patients, and to identify biomarkers for glomerular disease diagnosis and prognosis.

Congratulations to Dr. Agrawal, and learn more about the research in the Agrawal Lab here.
