Hobbies/Interests: Volleyball, snowboarding, karaoke, video games, traveling, exploring new restaurants, finding the best milk tea spots, making matcha, spending quality time with my pets and loved ones, reading thriller/mystery novels, and watching (and re-watching) Christopher Nolan and A24 films.
Why Stony Brook?: I chose Stony Brook because I was deeply impressed by the people I met on interview day. Everyone, from the faculty to the residents, was incredibly friendly, down-to-earth, and genuinely supportive, which made the program feel very welcoming. I was also drawn to the strong clinical training, diverse pathology, frequent use of bedside POCUS, and strong emphasis on research and academic growth, all of which I felt would help me become a more confident and well-rounded physician. On a personal level, much of my family lives on Long Island, so training at Stony Brook also gives me the opportunity to stay close to home and to the people who are most important to me. Overall, Stony Brook felt like a place where I would be challenged, supported, and genuinely happy throughout residency.
