Why Stony Brook? I was initially introduced to the culture of Stony Brook Internal Medicine through the website and by talking to friends who were residents there. The interview day and first few months have exceeded my expectations for the positive environment that facilitates our continued growth. This is true amongst the program director, APDs, attendings, co-residents, and other staff we work with daily at the hospital/clinics. The improvements that Dr. Lane and APDs have made to the program, using resident input, are appreciated. Lastly, as someone who is not originally from the Long Island area, I can say I value the serenity of living in Stony Brook, and at the same time the ease of access to its beaches and NYC.
