At my interview day and even the night before at the interview dinner, I had a really great gut feeling about the program. All of the people I met, from the residents to the attendings, were friendly, nice, and down-to-earth. Everyone seemed very supportive of each other and this was important to me in deciding where to train. Stony Brook is also in a great location. It serves an enormous catchment area on Long Island and is just a train ride away from the city and a ferry ride away from Connecticut. These reasons, along with the 4+1 schedule, the opportunities for research and fellowship, and the chance to work with veterans at the VA, all made me confident that Stony Brook was right for me. |
