Why Stony Brook? I closed out of my virtual interview day call immediately knowing that Stony Brook was the right fit for me. I felt a strong sense of support and comradery among the current residents, and it was clear that program leadership had a large role to play in fostering Stony Brook's culture. Rotations will be challenging, but I've never felt alone with incredible seniors and attendings by my side. Not to mention everything that Long Island has to offer; it's close to the city and easily accessible by LIRR for a weekend trip, or an hour drive out to the amazing vineyards and farms on the North Fork. And nothing beats seeing the sunrise over the north shore from the medicine call room after a long night shift.
