Why Stony Brook?: Stony Brook was my top choice for residency because I wanted to train at a large academic institution with opportunities to prepare for fellowship, strong administrative support, and collaborative peers. I also looked for a program that would challenge me to grow beyond my comfort zone. During the interview process, I was impressed that so many residents chose to stay on or return as faculty, which spoke to the welcoming and nurturing environment. Now that I have begun residency, I am happy in my decision and grateful for the opportunity to practice medicine here.
