Why Stony Brook? On match day I was thrilled to find that I would be completing my residency at Stony Brook. SBIM was the obvious choice for me as it encompassed everything I searched for in a program - an academically invigorating environment with robust research opportunities and competitive fellowship matches. More importantly, despite interviews being held virtually, I felt a sense of warmth and camaraderie from Dr.Lane, Dr. Goolsarran as well as the residents and chiefs. I immediately knew I would thrive in this sort of environment. Moreover, as a native Long Islander, the cherry on top was remaining in close proximity to my family and friends after being away for undergrad and medical school. Despite the challenges of residency, I am exceedingly grateful to be a part of the Stony Brook Internal Medicine family!
