Why Stony Brook? I was initially drawn to SBUH because of the vast opportunities available, including numerous research opportunities and competitive fellowship matches in addition to its strong academic environment. My decision was really solidified on interview day, where I was really able to capture how happy all the residents were and how they genuinely enjoyed each other's company inside and outside of work. I also noticed that every group of residents I encountered spoke very highly of Dr. Lane, emphasizing her interest in our success during our years in residency and beyond. My interview with Dr. Lane showed me that were right, she emanated warmth and compassion and made me feel very comfortable from the very beginning. Being here now, I'm so glad that I matched at Stony Brook. I've felt supported throughout by my co-interns, seniors, and chiefs and feel as though I have all the resources I need to excel.
