Why Stony Brook:  After spending the last chapter of my life in upstate NY, I was looking to come back closer to home and I knew Stony Brook was the right fit as soon as I walked in on my interview day. I was extremely impressed with the depth of this program. The academics and research opportunities are very strong, the faculty is amazing, and this program has all the tools necessary to help you achieve your career goals whether you are interested in pursuing fellowship or plan to be a general internist. Despite this, what really drew me in was that everyone in this program are truly a family. It is simply the culture of Stony Brook to support and foster each other’s growth and this concept is understood throughout the entire hospital.

For anyone who is doesn’t know much about long island: it can be a great place to live, especially if you like great egg sandwiches, NY pizza and being able to visit the beach and NYC in the same day.
