Why Stony Brook? I chose Stony Brook IM because it had the perfect blend of qualities I wanted in a residency program: proximity to my family, strong academic training, an emphasis on resident wellness, and a supportive group of co-residents and colleagues who celebrate me being my truest self as a trans woman. My interviews with Dr. Lane (our PD!) and Dr. Ng (our APD!) were electric; after them, I vividly remember telling my family that I was going to Stony Brook. As an intern, I found that what I was sold was exactly what I am experiencing, and I am eternally grateful to have found my match here at Stony Brook!
