Why Stony Brook? I got a really good gut feeling at Stony Brook on my interview day that has only been reaffirmed since July 1st. The people here are so genuinely compassionate, supportive, down to earth and funny. Feeling supported through the rigors of residency is essential to being able to capitalize on clinical as well as academic opportunities, both of which are bountiful here. I personally learn best by emulation, and at Stony Brook I truly feel like I am surrounded by people at every level of training and practice who exemplify the type of physician I hope to become.
