Why Stony Brook: The ability to train near my hometown and treat patients from my community are aspects of Stony Brook that I find especially meaningful. Separate from that, training at a hospital like Stony Brook — very much on the cutting edge of medicine — was also a priority for me. Finally, I found the residents to be welcoming and the program to have a positive culture when I interviewed.
