Our division is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. The program ensures that the individuals who participate in the training program are selected based upon their interest in providing an excellent training environment for the residents without regard to their background/race/creed/color/gender identity/sexual orientation/disability. We will interview and rank a broad range of applicants, including applicants with diverse backgrounds, and both MD and DO candidates. Fellows are supported in their cultural, ethnic and religious commitments and requests for special scheduling for holidays and observances, within the confines of rotation requirements and duty hour restrictions.

Our departmental Pediatric Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, includes residents, fellows, and faculty and provides a safe, productive environment where members discuss new ideas, evaluate current initiatives, and encourage conversation and reflection on related topics of interest. The DEI committee aligns with our approach to advancing diversity and inclusion and retention of both residents and faculty. The committee is well-attended and provides a forum for open discussion of issues affecting all.

Fellows may also choose to be involved in other committees on campus, including the following:
