Dr. Peter Gorevic Receives Designation of Master at American College of Rheumatology in 2023  

On behalf of the Department of Medicine, we write to formally congratulate Dr. Peter Gorevic on receiving the Designation of Master by American College of Rheumatology.  

American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the Association of Rheumatology Professionals (ARP) Membership and Awards Committee has written: narrowing down a large applicant pool, especially when it is composed of so many highly qualified candidates. Your outstanding contributions to the field, however, stood out most to the committee. 

Dr. Gorevic is a Rheumatologist, and Allergist/Immunologist. He is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine, former Chief of the Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology, Stony Brook University, former Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He joined us in February 2022. 

 Dr. Gorevic has been recognized as an international authority in amyloidosis and related diseases. He has conducted basic, translational study of amyloidosis and its clinical trials. He is also an expert in the field of autoinflammatory disease, particularly familial Mediterranean fever. Additionally, he is an expert in cryoglobulinemia-associated diseases, including hepatitis C. In collaboration, he has published numerous articles in the field in most prestigious journals, such as N Engl J Med, JAMA and PNAS.

We are pleased that Dr. Gorevic has received the high honor from the Professional Society.
