Appointment of Angela Lo, M.D., Interim Medical Director, Internal Medicine Residents' Clinic

Dear Members of the DOM Community,

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Angela V. Lo, MD, as Interim Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Residents’ Clinic, effective April 1, 2026.

Dr. Lo graduated from the Stony Brook Internal Medicine Residency program and completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and Medical Education at the University of Hawaii. Upon completion of fellowship training, Dr. Lo returned to Stony Brook and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine. She serves as a preceptor in the Residents’ Continuity Clinic and as Core Faculty for the Residency Program. Dr. Lo has been an enthusiastic educator for our medical students, physician assistant students, residents, and geriatric fellows and brings a strong commitment to primary care and clinical education to the role.

In her role as the Interim Medical Director of the Residents’ Clinic, Dr. Lo will:

  • Serve as a key liaison between the residency leadership and the ambulatory clinic
  • Provide a strong outpatient teaching program for our medical students and residents
  • Advance innovations in medical education with the residency leadership and oversee the teaching of our trainees to provide patient centered, evidence based, high quality, efficient care
  • Work with clinic staff to attain increased continuity rates for our resident physicians and optimize clinic workflow
  • Oversee, along with Divisional leadership, quality improvement projects within the clinic.
