Dear Members of the Department of Medicine Community:
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Farah Daccueil in the Divisions of Nephrology and Hospital Section of General Medicine as the Stony Brook University Hospital Quality Liaison Officer for the Department of Medicine. She joined our department in 2017 as a Hospitalist attending faculty, and is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Daccueil helped establish a Nephrology Hospitalist team with a primary goal of providing optimal care to inpatients with end stage renal disease and kidney transplant patients. She also serves as Associate Program director for Nephrology fellowship. She regularly moderates educational activities including biweekly journal clubs for Hospitalist service.
Dr. Daccueil’s hard work, determination, and enthusiasm for quality improvement are well recognized by her colleagues. In this new position, she will be collaborating with Stony Brook University Hospital Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality Officer and Department of Medicine QA leadership for quality-related items such as Mortality reviews, SB safes, Grievances, Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) and Serious Safety Events (SSEs).
