The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the promotion of Sobia Khan, M.D., Division of Nephrology and Hypertension, to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Renaissance School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Dr. Sobia Khan received her medical education from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center and fellowship training in Nephrology and Hypertension at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, and also served as the Chief Fellow for the Nephrology training program.
Dr. Khan is a board-certified physician by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Nephrology and American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Khan serves as the Co-Director of the Stony Brook Dialysis Kidney Unit and Director of Quality Improvement in the Division of Nephrology. Her clinical and research interests include the therapy of chronic kidney disease (including lupus kidney disease), hemodialysis and hypertension. Dr. Khan is also actively involved in clinical research.
