Welcome Dr. Mark Hellerman – Academic Hospital Cardiologist

Dear Colleagues,

It is with immense pride that we welcome Mark B. Hellerman, M.D. to our faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology and The Heart Institute at Stony Brook  University Hospital. Dr. Hellerman, a former Chief Cardiology Fellow at Stony Brook, is joining our full-time hospital-based cardiology team, where he will help lead inpatient cardiology services at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. Hellerman is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He performed his internal medicine training at North Shore University Hospital where he was selected as Chief Resident before completing his cardiology fellowship at Stony Brook where he was a distinguished Chief Fellow. He is a gifted clinician, educator, and innovator, recognized for his work in medical education and creation of multiple digital teaching tools. His efforts include a high-sensitivity troponin teaching platform, ECG learning resources, and a Pre-Rounders YouTube series for cardiology fellows and residents. He is also active in AI research in cardiovascular care. 

With a passion for the future of cardiology, Dr. Hellerman brings a dynamic voice to our clinical and academic missions. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Hellerman and introduce yourself and welcome him as a potential collaborator.
