The Department of Medicine is proud to announce the appointment of Michael G. Moskovitz, M.D., of the Section of Palliative Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, as the new Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program, effective August 1. 
Founded in 2019, the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program has become an integral part of the Department's educational mission. We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Grace LaTorre for her vision, leadership, and dedication in founding and developing the fellowship program, creating a strong foundation for its continued growth and success.
Dr. Moskovitz joined the Stony Brook faculty in 2020. He earned his medical degree from the Technion Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel, in 2014, following completion of his undergraduate studies at UCLA.
He subsequently completed his residency in Internal Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and worked as a hospitalist before pursuing fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Moskovitz's academic interests include resident education, prognostic communication, and spiritual care at the end of life.
