The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the promotion of Brianne Navetta-Modrov, M.D., to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology in the Renaissance School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Dr. Navetta-Modrov received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Albany Medicine College 2012 and her bachelors degree in Biology/Psychology with a concentration in neuroscience from the University of Delaware in 2006. She completed her internal medicine residency (2015), chief residency (2016) and allergy and immunology fellowship at Northwell Health in 2018.

Dr. Navetta-Modrov joined The Department of Medicine in 2018 as an Adult Allergy and Immunology faculty. She is currently board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology. Since joining the faculty, Dr. Navetta has started and expanded upon the Adult Allergy and Immunology outpatient practice and inpatient hospital consultation service.
Dr. Navetta-Modrov's scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures on immunodeficiency in the adult patient, alpha gal syndrome and chronic urticaria.
Dr. Navetta-Modrov has also played an integral role in the training of medical students, residents, and rheumatology fellows, and has mentored numerous trainees who have gone on to successful careers. Her accomplishments have been recognized through numerous honors, including election as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), election as a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and was designated as a "rising star" in New York in 2025.
Dr. Navetta-Modrov has served on the Faculty Development Committee at Stony Brook Hospital, the New Allergist Committee through the ACAAI and is on the board of the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society. She has contributed to the development of the drug desensitization and challenge policy for Stony Brook Medicine and reviews guidelines for anaphylaxis and latex allergy policies regularly for the hospital system.
