The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the promotion of Sarath G. Nath, M.B.B.S., Division of Infectious Diseases, to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Renaissance School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
After completing his medical education in India, Dr. Nath underwent internal medicine residency and chief residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

From 2021 to 2022, Dr. Nath held several academic roles at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. Since joining Stony Brook University in 2022, he has significantly expanded his impact on public health and is the PI for a New York State Department of Health grant which provides HIV prevention and STI treatment services.
In 2023, Dr. Nath was also appointed Director of the STI Center for Suffolk County. His research focus is on PrEP implementation and HIV comorbidities management.
